Wildest Winter Camp 2016

How best to celebrate 100 year of Cubs scouts than the “Wildest Winter Camp Ever” at Woodhouse Park near Bristol. The weather was definitely wild and wet and after a short walk round Woodhouse Park the 16 cubs had a late snack of Pizza and hot chocolate before going to bed. After breakfast the Cubs braved the winter weather to take part in several challenging activities, including Go Karting, Archery, Climbing, Low Ropes, Crate Stacking and Backwoods Cooking.

Over half of the cubs were taking part in their first nights away! During the weekend the Cubs came up with adventurous ideas for the following terms programme, the leadership team were keen to make it Youth Lead and have now passed over the challenge to their leaders to make their ideas reality.

On the Saturday evening the Cubs were visited by a member the Somerset WSJ Unit who carried out a presentation on their time in Japan showing the Cubs and Leaders a fascinating range of neckers kimonos and other items that they had swapped at the WSJ. The Cubs had an opportunity to try on some of the clothes.

All the cubs really enjoyed the Wildest Winter Camp and are looking forward to continuing celebrating Cubs 100 with even more fun and adventure.
